Hi, my name is Jim, and I do websites.
I don’t just do websites. I do other stuff too. One of the other stuff I do is audio and video work. From recording to editing, production and right through to the finished article.
However, websites make up the majority of my work at Trichrome Media.
I started doing web ‘stuff’ in 1999, designed my first site in 2000 using Dreamweaver 2, and now I have 18 years experience at doing it. The days of Dreamweaver are long gone, I hand-code pretty much everything, and use Photoshop or Illustrator for the graphic design. You want acronyms? GUI, UX, HTML, CSS, JS, PHP, LAMP and even ROI to name but a few. Phew! It’s like a mouthful of alphabetti spaghetti!
I’ve also spent time working as part of busy Marketing Departments in both the private and public sector, and this has helped me understand the different requirements of a web solution; the importance of the ‘call-to-action’, who the stakeholders are, and why you’re bothering to do any of it – all the principal considerations.
There are a lot of hours that have gone into teaching myself all the skills necessary to create an entire web solution, whether it be a single page micro-site, or a hundreds of pages macro-site. Some people think that’s really boring. I can confirm this. I am definitely a nerd. There are examples of both on the sites page.
However, an agency style site need not mean agency style prices. I don’t have a swanky office, I don’t pay some geezer to come and look after the office plants, and I don’t feel the need to run away from my place of work at 5:30pm Monday to Friday. I have a nice lounge/office/creative studio, I look after the plants myself, and predominantly awake-time is work-time.
If you think you might like a top quality bespoke website, please do get in touch. The best way is to drop me an email from the Contact page.
